At MindSeed we offer individual and couples therapy, groups, and tailored programs.
Individual Psychotherapy
Individual Psychotherapy is where you meet with your selected therapist and collaboratively work towards your identified goals. Typically, you’d start with weekly sessions, but you and your therapist will discuss what makes the most sense for you. Frequency of sessions can change based on where you find yourself on our 3-stage trauma model of care.
Your therapist will use a combination of these approaches to help you.
Couples Therapy
Navigating the complexities of a relationship can be a challenging journey, especially when past traumas come into play.
Our trauma-informed couples therapy provides a nurturing environment for understanding, growth, and healing. Whether you're looking to deepen your bond, resolve conflicts, or simply gain insights into the patterns that shape your relationship, our team is here to support you every step of the way. Join us in exploring paths to deeper connections and wellbeing.
Groups
DBT Skills Group (24 weeks)
In our Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills Group, you’ll learn concrete and practical skills to manage intense emotions, tolerate distress, improve communication, relationships, and develop greater self-awareness.
This group can be helpful for individuals struggling with self-harm or suicidality, intense emotions or mood swings, substance abuse, eating disorders, and who experience difficulty in relationships.
The group follows the established 4 DBT skill sets, which include: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness.
Participants partake in group skills training in addition to individual psychotherapy. Recommendations are on a case by case basis, following a consultation. Please contact us to learn more.
Groups are held once a week for 2 hour sessions, and typically consist of 8-10 individuals (aged 18+).
Emotional Competence & Skills Building Groups (4 weeks)
These groups provide a supportive and structured environment for you to develop and enhance your emotional competence and skills, using a trauma-informed lens. The group focuses on cultivating essential emotional skills such as self-awareness, emotional regulation, interpersonal communication, and coping strategies, so that you can feel more empowered in navigating emotions and relationships. These groups can be tailored based on where you find yourself on our 3-stage model.
Stability Skills Group (24 weeks)
We offer this group as part of our Stability Program. You'll learn mindfulness, distress tolerance, managing emotions, relationship effectiveness — all using elements of DBT skills, art therapy, and body-based practices.
This group equips you with the ability to feel empowered and skillful.
Parenting Group (8 weeks)
Being a parent offers an opportunity for healing and growth. Here we let the practice of parenting guide us towards our own inner experiences that may need some re-parenting (or attention, care, nurturance) too.
This group helps primary caregivers gain support, increased awareness and skills related to their own triggers and experiences as a parent.
BIPOC Teens and Young Adults Groups (8 weeks)
These tailored groups are intended for individuals 16 and up who identify as part of the BIPOC community, and is dedicated to addressing the unique mental health needs of young individuals from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color backgrounds. We provide a safe and inclusive space to share experiences, as well as learn self-care and coping strategies. These groups can be tailored based on where you find ourself on our 3-stage model.
Exercise Your Strength
In this workshop we explore practical tools to safely find connection with our bodies while we engage in exercise and fitness.
Trauma and oppression impact our ability to comfortably connect with and find strength and power in our bodies. There’s often negative associations with movement and exercise, so we tend to avoid it.
In the first half of this workshop, we will be learning about the connection between trauma and our bodies, and discussing trauma-informed practices to bring into our fitness. In the second half, we’ll find simple movements to connect with and find strength in our bodies.
Research has shown that exercise and movement greatly affect symptoms of trauma. But before we can achieve this, we have to bring awareness to the barriers that exist internally and in the world around us.
All abilities are welcome. No equipment necessary.
Trauma-Informed Yoga
Led by a certified trauma-informed yoga instructor, trauma-informed yoga focuses on the mind-body connection. As trauma shows up in different ways in the body, this practice can help you to recognize these sensations, and feel safe and empowered in managing them.
You can meet in the comfort of your own private space.
Psychiatric Consultations
Stay Tuned! We are working to offer psychiatric consultations as part of our complete circle of care. If needed, a Psychiatrist may assess your needs and work closely with your family doctor and therapist. A report will be provided to your family doctor that describes your medication plan and any necessary follow up.
